Jeniffer Munoz

I am Jeniffer Muñoz, a psychologist and the founder of Held Mind Psychology.

The name Held Mind is inspired by Donald Winnicott's idea of a holding environment - a therapeutic space that feels safe, steady, and emotionally containing enough for you to explore your inner world at your own pace. It reflects how I understand therapy: not as something done to you, but as a relationship we create together where all parts of you are welcome - even the ones that may feel confusing, painful, or difficult to understand.
Originally trained in Chile and later completing my Master of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) in Australia, I offer therapy in both English and Spanish. My own experience of migration has deepened my appreciation of how our relationships, identities, and life experiences shape the way we move through the world, while also reminding me that every person's story is unique.
I work in a trauma-informed, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and neurodiversity-affirming way. I welcome adults from all backgrounds and support people navigating, depression, anxiety, trauma, OCD, perfectionism, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and other challenges that can leave us feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from ourselves.
My practice is integrative, drawing on psychodynamic and attachment-based thinking alongside evidence-based therapies including CBT, Schema Therapy, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Rather than following a single model, I tailor therapy to each person's needs, goals, and experiences.
I am committed to ongoing professional development, supervision, and reflective practice to ensure my work remains thoughtful, evidence-informed, and responsive to the people I work with.
Above all, I hope Held Mind Psychology is a place where you feel genuinely heard, gently held, and supported to make sense of your experiences. I believe that when we feel safe enough to explore ourselves with curiosity and compassion, meaningful and lasting change becomes possible.
